Mary River Cottage was purchased in 2013 by the Brown Family, who were living in Brisbane City. After the purchase, the Browns decided to renovate the property into a ‘get-away-from-the-city’ holiday house to spend time with family and friends. They fell in love with the Sunshine Coast hinterland and decided in 2017 to move to Maleny, some 20 minutes drive from the Cottage. The Cottage remains a much loved holiday home and it seemed reasonable to allow others to enjoy its many charms. Based on the tranquil Mary River and surrounded by the peaceful sounds of running water and local bird life, the Cottage is now enjoyed by guests from all over Australia and around the world.
